Design For Battle [28mm Miniature sculpts; Modern British miniatures - Virtus 2021]

Since the start of this year my ongoing project has been in making miniatures for Design For Battle; https://designforbattle.com/

I've been making a series of posed miniatures, most with 5+ head variants with various helmet/hat options. These have been a pleasure to work on, with Rich's creative vision for the figures. These are all Modern with Virtus equipment, I've done quite a bit of research into the background and equipment. These will be resin miniatures in popular ‘heroic’ scale (a slightly ‘chunkier’ miniature which lends itself well to painting).

I'm a huge fan of Game's Workshops sculpts and their style is something of inspiration for miniature sculpts.

As with all my sculpts for miniatures, I have to consider paintbrush to surface area when sculpting the various surfaces, they have to be fun to paint and add detail where it makes sense, and where I know it will come through on a print, alot of small detail will not present, so many areas are thickened while appearing clean and bold. This process can be most challenging on weapons such as the SA80 rifle and Anti tank weapons.

Lots more of these to come, and I hope to continue enjoying work with Richard on his line of miniatures.
